How long should I wait before joining my school's band?

I played clarinet in elementary school but had to quit because my
mother wouldn't give me money to buy reeds. Now I'm in a small
university without a decent music program, and I want to start playing
again. My old roommate is in the band (playing clarinet) and she never
practices or received lessons. She says the music is very easy. I
looked up what they played at the last concert, and it includes Harry
Potter Symphonic Suite, and Selections from The Nutcracker. Hmmm...
The only prerequisite is "previous band experience." The choir has no
prerequisites, yet we performed Mozart's Requiem Mass.

I have a very good knowledge of theory, play piano, sing classically
and can sight read quite well, but haven't played clarinet in 8 years.
How long should I wait before joining? Do you think I could join this
fall if I practice daily all summer?

What are some amazing less popular alternative rock bands?

I'm looking to start expanding my music collection. Currently some of
the artists in which I listen to include:
- Radiohead
- Pink Floyd
- Our Lady Peace
- Phoenix
- The Trews
- The Smashing Pumkins
- Muse
- Everlea
- Cold Play
- One Republic
- Avenged Sevenfold
- Arcade Fire
- Matchbox Twenty
- etc.

Unfortinatly I'm having trouble finding bands that are good and I've
never heard of, I have tried listening to some bands that have similar
sounds to some of those. But right now I'm looking for a solid band,
that maybe has a nice alternative sound, maybe a few acoustic tracks
here and there. If anybody could give me a list of bands, or some good
insight on where to look I'd greatly appreciate it!

I personally like Takuto (Actually, I am a definet fangirl:P), and I
personally dislike Eichie greatly, but I really dislike saying mean

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out this song. I dont know who
sing or the title of the song. I heard it in a tattoo shop and now I
cant stop thinking about the song. Its like a rock, metal, or
alternative song and the guy sounded like he was saying ohh skins or
so scared but I dont think thats what he was saying haha. In the
beginning sounded like he said something was far down the road then
skins right in front of my hands...that dont make sense but thats what
